My Story

UNVEILING THE WRITER

Fannie Rabinowitz (PEN Name: DESSI HNDRXX) is a writer and graphic artist raised in Madison, WI, and currently based in Chicago, Il. She specializes in Young Adult and Urban Fiction but has dabbled in Nonfiction and Poetry from time to time. She graduated in May 2021 from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor's in Creative Writing and was also a production editor for Hair Trigger 43, Columbia's fiction magazine. Her ultimate goal is to become a published author of a novel or two and some short stories.

She brings a unique perspective to writing as a young African American woman who was adopted by a white mother. She showcases her unique point of view within the voices of her characters and can see the world through the eyes of those different from her own.
